Uploading your email list for verification

Verify your email addresses right now!

One of the available ways to verify emails in SafetyMails is by uploading a email list for verification (the other one is through an integration). To upload a list, the file must be in CSV format (click here to know what is a CSV file).
To verify an email list, follow the steps below:

  1. Access your account in SafetyMails. (if you do not have an account yet, create yours now!);
  2. Remember: you need to have the necessary amount of credits to verify your email list. If you do not have, you can buy credits);
  3. On DASHBOARD tab or on LIST VALIDATION, click on “Validate a new list”
  4. Click on “My files”
  5. Select the email list you want to verify (it must be a CSV file, ok?)
  6. Validate the fields and shown below and click on “Import the list”

Preparing your email list for verification

In order to run the verification properly, you need to prepare your email list for verification filling some infos. See how to do it:

  1. List name: type a name for you list (the system will take file name as default)
  2. Charset: SafetyMails tries to identify which is the charset used to create your email list. The charset helps SafetyMails to know which character set to use when validating your email list. You can change it on this box.
  3. Delimiter: choose in this box which delimiter is on your file (colon or semicolon);
  4. Use the first line as a header?: If the first line of your file has the headers of the columns (such as name, city, email), select “yes” and SafetyMails will take it as header. But, if the first line of your file has data to be verified, select “no”.
  5. Column name: the user can change the name of a column if he wants to. Just type it in the field of a column that you want to change.
  6. First line: it is a data preview from the first entries of each column found in the CSV file. It allows the user to find errors, such as wrong data in the fields or incorrect characters encoding.
  7. Data type: “Email”, “Normal” and “Discard”. SafetyMails tries to identify automatically which columns has the email addresses, but the user can change the default selection by clicking on the option “Email”, coloring the line in green (attention: if you select the wrong column as “Email”, SafetyMails will not be able to run the verification properly). The columns marked as “Normal” are not verified, but they will be part of the final report. If you do not want to upload one or more columns from your file, just select the option “discard” for them (they will be colored in red).

Attention: for bigger files, we recommend an upload through FTP (you need to have your FTP data to use it).

Now that you have your email list for verification, you can proceed to SafetyMails Dashboard and upload it to list verification
